Ok, it’s more of a challenge than ever to get that SOLD sign in front of your home! You have to work at it today when there are SO MANY homes on the market competing with yours. Your home MUST be special in some way.
BE AN OPEN MINDED SELLER.
Look at your home and try to be objective. What kind of improvements can you make to attract buyers? What would you be willing to pay for your home today? Your realtor should be very objective and help you with these answers.
CURB APPEAL IS A MUST.
You want buyers to drive by your home, see the sign and say “I want an appointment to see that house”. Make the home as attractive as possible with some fresh paint, tasteful landscaping to enhance the home, keep the grass mowed and get rid of any unnecessary debris like old patio furniture, etc.
STEP INTO THE HOME AND WHAT DO YOU SEE?
Now is the time to catch up on the maintenance, such as leaky faucets, torn screens, cracked tile and painting the walls. A fresh coat of paint works wonders to make a home look, feel and smell new. Clean the carpets, remove old blinds, open the curtains and let the light shine through for a cheery atmosphere.
START PACKING YOUR STUFF!
It is so important for the buyers to be able to envision their own belongings in your home. If they are looking at all of your personal things, clutter, etc. it makes it hard for them to think of it as their home. The best scenerio is when the buyer starts placing their own furniture in each room in their mind.
PRICE YOUR HOME TO SELL!
Have your realtor pull up comparables to your home in your school district for recent home sales and active listings which reveal your competition. Make your home the best buy in your price range and a qualified buyer will come knocking at your door!
GOOD LUCK!
